History

Since its foundation in 1953, Grupo Nervión has undergone international expansion and diversified its business lines. In 2015, Nervión started its first project to build structures for offshore wind farms. Between 2017 and 2020, Amper Group completed the acquisition of Grupo Nervión. With a strong focus on offshore wind energy, in 2021 the Nervión Naval Offshore S.L.U. Division was created. However, Nervión Naval Offshore continues to keep its shipbuilding business line more active than ever. In 2024, Amper is firmly committed to Nervión Naval Offshore by creating the ‘WindWaves’ brand.

Extensive experience in the shipbuilding sector

With more than 60 years of experience in the marine indsutry, WindWaves is a leading company in the manufacture of foundations for offshore wind farms, boasting a deep knowledge and experience in offshore projects.

Own capacities

We are developing a new infraestructure in Ferrol's Outer Harbour that will provide us with the capacity to manufacture offshore wind structures in our own facilities.
With more than 8 hectares of land in the port of Ferrol, including a covered assembly warehouse covering more than 12,000 square metres equipped with state of the art manufacturing systems.
In addition, to complement the production in the Port of Ferrol we have a factory in As Somozas (A Coruña) 25 minutes from the Port with more than 35,000 square metres of covered space and a plot of 65,000 square metres.

WindWaves has a team of experienced technicians and operators capable of transferring their knowledge.
More than 4 years of experience in "know-how" transfer in countries with different cultures and methodologies (Taiwan and France)
Collaborating companies that offer transfer services coordinated by our technicians.

Supply chain management

We have more than 7 years of subcontracting work in Spain. This has led us to obtain recognition and an exclusive relationship with first need suppliers, such as NEOSIC. In addition, we have the capacity to contract labor with privileged relationships: Viamecan, Irluc, Baltor Steel.
