5 floating Spar units for the Hiwind field operated by Equinor.
WindWaves participated as the main subcontractor of Navantia for the assembly of sections, elaboration and assembly of secondary components, and painting of assembly areas.
Additionally, Windar subcontracted Nervion Naval Offshore for manufacturing and repair works of section rings for blocks.
The Navantia / Windar consortium contracted with Equinor for the manufacturing of 5 SPAR-type units (floating wind structures).
This marked the world's first operational commercial floating wind farm. It's noteworthy that for their installation, very deep and sheltered waters are required, conditions found only in the Norwegian fjords, making the commercialization of this type complex.
WindWaves performed the joining of large sections using orbital welding, a semi-automatic process that enhances efficiency and minimizes defects. Additionally, they prefabricated and assembled all secondary elements.
